Sciatica does not appear overnight. It develops in stages. Understanding these stages is critical because treatment success depends on how early you act.
Pain begins in the buttocks (glute area). This is the earliest warning sign and the easiest stage to treat.
Pain starts traveling from the buttocks toward the thigh and knee. This indicates the sciatic nerve is becoming irritated.
Pain continues past the thigh into the calf area. At this stage, movement becomes uncomfortable and stiffness increases.
Pain travels all the way down to the foot and may return upward. This stage is severe and often described as sharp, deep, and exhausting.
Touching the leg causes burning or extreme sensitivity. At this stage, the nerve may be damaged.
Important: This stage may require medical intervention and cannot always be treated manually.
Based on real clinical experience:
The earlier you act, the easier it is to fix.
Most people make the mistake of ignoring early signs. Sciatica gets worse because people continue sitting incorrectly and do not change habits.
