Khaled, 52 — Shoulder Pain at Night

Middle East

Summary

Khaled is a 52-year-old married father of three who developed shoulder pain after lifting a box. X-ray and MRI showed no clear damage, yet the pain continued and began waking him at night. After trying massages and therapy with limited success, he turned to HealthGPT for a more holistic explanation and support.

Full Story

My name is Khaled. I am 52 years old. I do not drink alcohol, but I do smoke shisha. I am married and have three children. My wife is fifteen years younger than me, and she cooks wonderful Middle Eastern food, which I enjoy very much. I used to be very healthy, but I am no longer in the shape I once was. I am a little overweight now, and I cannot run anymore. The most I can manage is walking. I used to play badminton, but I had to stop because of pain in my shoulder. The problem started when I lifted a box. After that, my shoulder began to hurt. I went to my doctor, who first sent me for an X-ray. The X-ray showed nothing unusual. He then suggested an MRI to look for a tear, but the MRI also showed no tear and no obvious damage. Even so, the pain remained. What is strange is that it wakes me up every night at around three o’clock in the morning. When that happens, I usually go and make my shisha, take a few puffs, take another sleeping pill, and go back to bed. I have tried massages and therapy. The massages help a little, but only temporarily. The pain keeps coming back. Before therapy, the pain stayed mostly in my shoulder. Since starting therapy, the pain seems to radiate down my back toward the lower spine. I was told it may relate to the T12 area. It does not go into my legs, but it is still worrying. Someone suggested parasites as a possible cause. I find that hard to believe, but I did grow up on a homestead where we had horses, so I cannot completely dismiss it. At this point, I want to get rid of the problem and improve my health. I need to get fitter and take better care of myself. A friend told me about HealthGPT. At first I was unsure because it is an Israeli company and I am Arab, but I decided to put my health first. When I contacted them, I was surprised that they spoke to me in Arabic. I asked questions in Arabic and received answers in Arabic. That made a strong impression on me. This interview is in English because that is what they asked for, but I would have preferred Arabic. I decided to try the service. So far I have spent one hundred dollars and received Guidance Credits, which they call GCs. It is an interesting system, and now I am starting to do what they recommended. I want to see what happens next.
